Mary M. Lyneis leads the firm’s practice. She has worked uninterrupted with senior attorney James LoPrete for over 40 years. Ms. Lyneis graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Detroit School of Law, where she was a member of the Law Review. Her areas of practice span every stage of her client’s estate planning needs, including drafting estate plans, administration of estates and trusts, acting as trustee, guardianships and conservatorships, preparation of federal estate and gift tax returns, preparation of income tax returns for individuals, trusts and estates, probate and trust contests, as well as elder law and formation and administration of non-profit organizations.
Ms. Lyneis regularly counsels beneficiaries, trustees, executors, and guardians to resolve complex legal and tax issues. She is known for her even-handed approach and ethics when dealing with sensitive family matters.
Ms. Lyneis is a member of the State Bar of Michigan Probate and Tax Sections and the Oakland County Bar Association Probate Section and the Finance and Estate Planning Counsel of Michigan. She currently serves as secretary and trustee on the board of several private foundations.
